Professor Yawei Gao is a distinguished expert in developmental biology and epigenetics, serving as a Professor at Tongji University and a Senior Institute Member at the Sycamore Research Institute of Life Sciences, Shanghai .
Her research focuses on the multi-layered epigenetic regulatory mechanisms during early embryonic development, cell fate conversion, and induced reprogramming. By developing world-leading micro-sequencing technologies, she has pioneered the mapping of histone modifications in early embryos and established fundamental models for how m6A RNA modifications regulate chromatin states.
