Chenfei Wang is a tenured professor in the Department of Bioinformatics at the School of Life Sciences and Technology, Tongji University. He is an Affiliated Investigator at the Sycamore Research Institute of Life Sciences, Shanghai.
His research focuses on bioinformatics and artificial intelligence, as well as the microenvironment regulation and disease occurrence. In recent years, he has developed a series of intelligent algorithms for enhancing, generating, and functionally analyzing single-cell spatial-temporal multi-omics data, revealing the mechanisms linking multicellular cooperation and disease occurrence in complex microenvironments. He has published over twenty papers as corresponding author (including co-corresponding) in journals such as Nature Genetics, Nature Cancer, Cell Stem Cell, Genome Biology, and Nucleic Acids Research. He serves as a reviewer for journals including Nature Reviews Genetics, Nature Methods, Nature Cell Biology, Genome Biology, and Nature Communications, and is an editorial board member of BMC Bioinformatics. He leads and participates in several national research projects, including key R&D youth projects from the Ministry of Science and Technology, and national, young, and general research funds. He has received honors such as the Wu Rui Scholarship, the Boshin Program, and the Shanghai Science and Technology Rising Star award. He serves as a council member and chair of the Youth Committee of the Shanghai Bioinformatics Society.
