Protein & Cell | Lulu Hu's Team at SRILS Maps the Landscape of Cell Surface RNA

The team led by Core Investigator Lulu Hu proposed a unified tool for comprehensive analysis, imaging, and quantification of RNA on the surface of intact living cells.

Traditionally, RNA was thought to reside mainly inside the cell. However, recent discoveries of extracellular and surface-associated RNAs have opened new frontiers in cell signaling and immunology.

Dr. Lulu Hu's team developed the AMOUR technology to precisely map and quantify these RNAs on the cell membrane without damaging the cell. This breakthrough provides new targets for immunotherapy and cancer diagnostics.
